  • Protection of the educational Rights of Kids (PERK), President

    Amy Bohn is the co-founder and President of PERK, Protection of the Educational Rights of Kids. Amy is originally from Arkansas and has a degree in psychology and a background in life coaching, working with people of all walks of life. Her leadership has impacted people of all ages. As an activist leader in California, Amy speaks across the state on issues encouraging and teaching people how to protect their children and families. Amy has been a professional speaker at rally’s, events, news interview, inspiring and empowering people to fight for their freedoms, helping them remember their own power to take effective and decisive action. Amy is the mother of three children and married to the love of her life for 23 years.

    As the President of PERK, Amy leads a bi-partisan, non-profit whose mission is to advocate for medical freedom, bodily autonomy, children’s rights, parental rights, civil rights, and protecting children’s right to an education. PERK achieves its mission through educational outreach, action, advocacy, litigation, and legislation. PERK has tens of thousands of members throughout California, consisting of parents of children attending school, public employees, first responders, and concerned citizens. PERK was founded in 2019 and meets with legislators, lawyers, schools, school boards, Board of Supervisors, Superintendents, and more, addressing important issues impacting families and children. PERK is currently focused on stopping the mandates, educating about legislation, and filing legal action protecting citizens, parental rights, and medical freedom.

  • Darrlene Alquiza is a co-founder of PERK and PERK Advocacy. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Adolescent Development, with a special interest in research methodology and a Master of Arts degree in Human Development, specializing in early childhood education with a special interest in brain development. Darrlene understands the value of education and advocating for the most vulnerable population- the children. Her academic and professional experiences drive her passion to advocate for the pillars of the PERK values: educational rights, children’s rights, parental sovereignty, medical freedom, and privacy rights.

  • Kris Dukes is one of the co-founders of PERK and PERK Advocacy. She also serves as the Outreach Director. She is a California native and the mother of two children. She graduated from Cal State Northridge with a degree in Sports Medicine and Kinesiology. Later, she enjoyed a successful career in the television and film industry. Kris’ activism began in 2008 when her first child was severely disabled. She gave up her career to care for her permanently disabled child. She began raising awareness about health issues and educational rights affecting children . In 2019, it has became her mission to fight for parental rights. She has been proactively bringing groups from different regions of California together to use their voice to help make a change in public policy for a better California.
